Very good link from cisco.com about NBMA but it doesn't give example of configring when mapping agent is at hub and rp's at the spokes.

Hi Cheung,

Assume you are making tunnel between spokes with ip unnumbered feature and enabling tunnel interface with ip pim sparse-dense mode, do we have to give static mroutes, if we have to give static mroutes how(ip mroute R5-LO0 255.255.255.0 tunnel 0), dow we have to give static mroute pointing to the mapping agent(hub), Scott, Brian, Tony pls come to the board and get this resolved. Is static mroute is allowed in the exam.

thanks

One more method to solve it is to build the tunnel between R5 and R6.

Taylor,

I also faced exactly same problem. I don't know a way to resolve it.
(tried "static rp address to spoke & auto-rp address to spoke...with
& without pim NBMA mode...with sparse mode )

Problem only clears only if i move RP to Hub. Lets see if anyone can
help us to figure this problem.

spoke( R6, e.g) , the RP can't receive the join message. I notice from the
R6 that the PIMv2 join message was sent to the S0/0 ip addresss of R5, but
R5 never get it. The PIM NBMA mode can't help. I guess R1 doesn't forword
the PIMv2 packet to R5 correctly. Anyone have the idea?
