Netbios is a session-layer protocol (I think it's session). It can ride
over IPX, IP, or Netbeui. I think you're confusing netbios with
netbeui. Think of netbios like appletalk, which can ride over
localtalk, ethertalk, tokentalk, etc. Ip helper references to netbios
would of course only apply to netbios over TCP/IP.

hmmm......how and why would a router forward udp ports for netbios if
netbios is a non-routable protocol??
