Try and get rest the night before. Go to bed early - then wake up
early and do some mental exercises - maybe on some live gear to get
yourself warmed up.
I am going to practice with some Layer 2 stuff as I wake to get myself
warm - plus I know I will start with Layer 2 in the lab in just a few
hours. Mind you I will not stress - I will just have breakfast in my
room and as I do so - configure some VLANs and trunks etc.
I have been playing a lot of Poker lately - and I have created my own
three P's of Poker for success - Precision, Patience, and Positive
Attitude. These work well for the lab prep and attempt as well I
think.
On my next attempt I am going to manage time much better. I am going
to separate core tasks from peripheral tasks and go after all core
first. I plan on having all my gear communicating by lunch - including
the basics of BGP done.
I am going to record all peripheral tasks that I skipped on the
scratch paper - and I will hit them after lunch.
I am bringing my own colored pencils for some limited diagramming that
I will do. BGP will get a diagram for sure!
Best of luck - and I guess it is timely to say- - May the Force Be With You!
