I wanted to throw this out to the group for feedback.
Basically I have noticed that my ISDN simulator (vconsole 4 port) and
also that of other labs I've used have problems as a National Switch
(Basic-NI) once I set ppp encapsulation. This doesn't happen with other
switch types though. Other switch types the simulator emulates work
perfectly with PPP.
Yes, its weird. But, this has happened to me in more important
circumstances as well with the same combination..
Basically my ISDN configs work with HDLC encapsulation and Basic-NI. I
can ping and get responses, etc. But when I turn on ppp encapsulation
the user traffic stops. Oddly, I have gotten on my home simulator OSPF
adjacencies over the same link and a demand circuit established (it
actually brought the link up). But, just no user traffic.
Any ideas other than my simulator is busted?!
Andy
