IPv6 Software-Switched
IPv6 is a new Internet protocol that addresses the shortage of IP addresses worldwide. IPv6 quadruples the number of network address bits from 32 to 128 bits. The use of globally unique IPv6 addresses simplifies the mechanisms used for reachability and end-to-end security for network devices. Software-based IPv6, including basic services and manageability, is provided in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)EW.
