Hi guys,
I'd like to make sure I'm clear about this.
In the 3550 config guide, it says that fall-back bridging will only bridge
NON - IP traffic.
And, this is configured with the command bridge # prot vlan-bridge.
My understanding regarding vlan-bridge STP protocol is that this is just a
variation of the STP ieee version of the protocol.
However, if the vlan-bridge version of STP is being used on the 3550 and
there are routers also involved in bridging, on the routers you also have to
use the vlan-bridge version of STP. Is this true?
Also, when the vlan-bridge version of STP is used on the routers, will this
only work for NON - IP traffic like on the 3550's?
I don't recall seeing anything about the vlan-bridge STP protocol not
working for IP traffic.
Can anyone comment on this?
TIA, Tim
