Hi guys,
I recall an instance where I had created a summary route in ISIS and then on
the same router where the summary was created, I also redist ISIS into
another IGP - I think it was ospf but I'm not 100% sure. And, although I
hadn't configured any filtering to block the ISIS summary from being redist
into the 2nd IGP, by default, it was NOT redist.
Unfortunately, at the time, I was on a rental rack and I didn't stop to see
if this same behavior occurs with other IGP's.
So, now I'm wondering about this more broadly.
So, here's the scenario:
IGP-1 routes (including a summary created on R1) R1 IGP-2
For which combo's of IGP-1 and IGP-2 will the IGP-1 summary be redist into
IGP-2?
a) Never
b) It depends only on IGP-1
c) It depends only on IGP-2
d) It depends on both IGP-1 and IGP-2
Any feedback is greatly welcomed and warmly appreciated.
TIA, Tim
