Bob,

The command you might be thinking of is "terminal ip netmask-format
[options]. The 3 options are: decimal, hexadecimal and bit-count. If you
specify the bit-count option, the ip address in commands like show int X is
displayed with a /nn instead of m.m.m.m

This is an exec command, not a global command.

I don't know of any command that allows the /nn format to be used to enter
ip addresses. (Of course, ipv6 is a whole other story.)

HTH, Tim

Subject: cidr notation instead on full mask

I thought I remember reading a long time ago, that in global configuration
mode you could change something to allow one to use CIDR notation instead on
full subnet masks. Does anybody know this or have I become so involved that
I'm making up my own commands?

IE..
Inter fa0/0
Ip add 10.1.1.1/24 instead of 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

Thx, bob
