Sundar,
I thought the purpose of the global autorp command was to avoid the
potential for problems that can arise when the ip pim sparse-dense-mode is
configured.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but suppose you have a scenario where you're
running auto-rp and the only mcast groups that should be running in dense
mode are the auto-rp mcast groups.
What happens when due to a mis-configuration or some other problem, there's
no rp for certain mcast groups? Won't they run in dense-mode, by default?
I haven't thought about this for a while but I know that IE has a lab in
their workbook which addresses this issue.

Subject: Autorp Listener
Guys,
If asked to configure autorp in the real lab should I use
sparse-dense-mode on interfaces OR sparse-mode on interfaces along
with ip pim autorp listener command.
To me it looks like Cisco doesn't care as long as it works. I shall
appreciate your thoughts on this.
TIA,
