It might be wise to look into one of the online CCIE prep classes. No
flight costs, hotel costs, or visa hassles. Even if you assume that an
in-person bootcamp has some added value over an on-line bootcamp, you
might find that the cost-benefit analysis comes out in favor of an
on-line class. I start with a bias in favor of in-person training, but
I happen to live about sixty miles from one of the premier boot camps,
and I was flush with money at the moment when I took the bootcamp. I
think the cost-benefit analysis will favor on-line training for many people.
I have experienced both on-line and in-person CCIE classes, one before
passing, and one I audited when I did a bit of work for an outfit that
provides on-line CCIE classes. Both had enormous value. You can be a
CCIE and still learn some interesting details from a first-rate CCIE
bootcamp, on-line or in-person.
If you haven't tried the type of online class software that online
trainers use, you should try a demo. It is shocking how good the
experience can be.
