Chris,

You are right option 150 ip x.x.x.x is used to define a tftp server by address but according to the doc cd option 66 is used define a tftp server address by FQDN(fully qualified domain name). Cisco press R&S exam book has a good example of option 150 ip command.

thanks

Option 150 can be used to define a tftp server. It is used in the Cisco IP
Telephony world to give IP phones an IP and the address of a tftp server
where the phones can dl a config. I deo not know about 66

Thanks Dillon,

I know I have to look at the doc cd. I was looking for short cut(it is
bad), I was specifically interested in option 66 ip and option 150 ip
meanings. Thanks for your information and I will look for doc cd.

thanks

Mani

Hi, mani:

Just look up the doccd.

DHCP provides a framework for passing configuration information to hosts on
a TCP/IP network. Configuration parameters and other control information are
carried in tagged data items that are stored in the options field of the
DHCP message. The data items themselves are also called options. The current
set of DHCP options are documented in RFC 2131, Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol.

You also can find its meanings in windows 2000 server DHCP configuration.
