I failed 28-Feb-2005 and rebooked 5-April-2005 like a spring bounced back.
I didn't want to lose my great momentum that I had to prepare the lab on
28-Feb.
Also, real lab expereince is another great preparation and I like to do it
again when I have a vivid memory of it.
I started my study again 29 Fen right next day like you.
My failure on 28 Feb was very close.

I realized if I reach a certain confident level and failed the lab, longer
prepration or more material for next lab is not necessarily good. Also,I
don't believe spending just more racktime didn't help either. All of my
trials was always around 70~75 points. My conclusion for solution to CCIE
lab was how much you know all the possibly waiting traps on the topics.
Also, ever since Voice part is removed from the lab, I think the lab becomes
harder and with more traps.
If you can't find the trap qucik enough during the lab, it can cost a lot of
time and frustration and we will be like a MLB start-up pitcher throwing a
lot of balls per inning not being able to last many innings.

This is the main reason I am so active to this study group. To find out and
collect trap... I was able to collect at least one per day... Of course,
this will only be applied to those who reach a certain level of confidence.

And I think you are already there.

This is my 2 cents.

Regards

Jongsoo

Hi guys,

A few of you have asked how I did on the lab.

Sadly, I didn't pass.

While at first glance the lab seemed very reasonable and quite doable, once
I got deep into it, lots of bobby traps reared their ugly heads and slowed
me down.

By the lunch break, I had finished the first half of the lab but without
much double checking.

Security, QoS, BGP and Mcast had some nasty requirements and turned out to
be my undoing.

Actually, I'm not sure I should include BGP as part of my undoing since I
hardly lost any points in that part although it did take longer than I
wanted to do.

But, on the positive side, I'm very close to taming this beast.

(I hope that doesn't sound like Bush saying, "We're close to capturing Osama
bin Laden." but I couldn't escape the parallel.)

Actually, let me retract that statement since the ccie lab hasn't terrorized
as many people as OBL, right?

OK, time to regroup and get on with it.

Also, let me thank all of you who patiently keep answering my relentless
questions and keep supporting and encourage all of us still in pursuit.

Tim
