interface range FastEthernet0/23 - 24
 channel-group 1 mode desirable non-silence

What is the usage of "non-silence" command?
Per CCO, silence is default but I couldn't fully understand the concept.

I believe I can just leave as defaut (=silence) for ether channel between
two cisco CAT's. I will appreciate if someone confirm me about this.

Also, I am just wondring what kind of role this command reaaly plays...as I
am not a LAN engineer.

Thanks

Jongsoo
