If a router is configured with Chap callin, it will only challenge incoming
calls.
So in a typical lab test environment of two routers( A and B) via ISDN, you
configure the router A with callin and dial string and the router B without
dial string.
Then basically, router B can't dial to router A due to no dial string.
Router A will only challenge if router B calls in.
Hence, router A won't able to challenge chap.
At least, this is what I am thinking

Subject: PPP CHAP authentication
hello group.
could someone explain the difference between "ppp chap password" and
"ppp authentication chap callin". for example if the question says, R1
should challenge R2 and R2 should not attempt to authenticate R1,
which one do i use.
thanks.
rasal.
