Group,
Question on VTP Pruning:
Switch1------------(trunk)-------------Switch2------------------(trunk)------
-----------Switch3
If I wanted to monitor traffic coming into an interface on switch1 with a
sniffer which is connected to an interface on switch3, RSPAN would allow me to
accomplish this. My question is:
1.) Will RSPAN function correctly with VTP pruning enabled on the above
switches since you don't assign access ports to the remote vlan on Switch3? If
the answer is yes, is there some sort of special flag assigned to the remote
vlan that allows this to function with VTP pruning enabled?
2.) Does the same hold true for MVR and VTP pruning, since no access ports are
actually assigned to the multicast VLAN?
Thanks,
DAve
