Do you have the tar file and do you have it on a tftp server?
After erasing the flash like I wrote in my previous email, issue the following
command:
archive tar /x tftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-11.EA1a.tar flash:
Where c2950xxx.tar is the tar file name and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of
your tftp server.

Well the Cisco documentation states that you use the archive command to
upload or download software to/from the 2950. But when I try to use the
command the choices are limited to:
archive tar ?
/create create a tar file
/table List files in tar file
/xtract Extract files in tar file
I don't have access to the "archive download-sw" or "archive upload-sw". In
the past I have loaded the .tar file into flash but the switch has failed to
load.

There is not enough room on the 2950 to upgrade the IOS without first
erasing
what is in the flash.
Here are the steps:
1) delete c2950-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on the root of the flash
2) delete the files in the directory html
3) load the new code that is in the tar format
BTW, what do you mean by "2950 doesn't support the archive command"?

I'm trying to upgrade a 2950 and want to include the html files. The
documentation details the archive command but the switch doesn't support it!
Any suggestions please??
Many thanks
Tim
