As shown in the sytax below, the address used in the static mroute command is
intended to be a SOURCE address, not a group address:
R1(config)#ip mroute ?
A.B.C.D Source address
vrf Select VPN Routing/Forwarding instance
This is further confirmed on page 491 of Beau Williamson's "Developing IP
Multicast Networks". If he says it, it's true. I think the doc is incorrect
if it suggests a group address in the static mroute statement.

I'm confusing of using of the command "ip mroute". On Cisco doc, it

example using both multicast address and source address when using this
command. For example:
1. ip mroute 224.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 tunnel0 (using multicast address)
2. ip mroute 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 172.30.10.13 (using source address)
Could anyone explain of how to use this command and when to use with
source-addr and when to use with multicast-add?
