IPv6

Is it an eventuality that we will be using IPv6 as a standard in
the near future, totally replacing IPv4? And if so, what will
happen to IPv4? I am just now studying/reviewing IPv6 for R&S
exam, and its like studying for a whole new IOS within the IOS.
Any suggestions for good books relating to the topic? Thanks in
advance.
