I can't believe a simple question like the one below has caused such an
upstart - someone who was unaware that TK is for "cheaters" simply
inquired
and a handful of respondents did what they should have (informed Bobby
that
TK was the source of all that is bad in the world, and suggested better,
more legitimate study material).
Others, however went off into their diatribes (much like I am right now)
about how horrible a person Bobby must be to even ask such a question,
or
that he must be lying when he says he was unfamiliar with their
reputation,
or that he should have searched the archives before asking such a
question
(whew - it's a good thing everybody does that - and you NEVER see the
same
question show up on GS more than once).
It never ceases to amaze me how high and mighty we network "engineers"
get
because we have the ability to push buttons on devices designed (and
dare I
say, ENGINEERED) by someone else. Does it take a lot of
knowledge/skill/experience - yes, it does. But we're not re-inventing
the
wheel here - we know the commands to type to make networks perform. We
are
NOT scientists/engineers/developers/etc. (as CCIEs is what I'm saying -
if
you happen to be any/all of the above in ADDITION to being CCIE
certified,
then bravo for you). We just happen to live in an economy that values
the
button pushers more than the actual creators. So be it - I sold out for
the
greater reward / lesser challenge.
Thank you to those who replied in a manner that informed the original
questioner. And my apologies to anyone bothered/offended by my addition
of
noise to this august forum.
