Hi there

CCIE and the stress a nd load it brings with it is no joke. It is rael and serious.
I had all sort of issues myself. Insomnia, heart burn, migraines (specially when reading DLSW).

When u prepare for the test, u are constantly challenging and questioning urself. U fail and bounce back. One day ur happy th eother ur about to give up...this my friend has a cost on ur overall mental balance. When u are married with kids...well time the pressure by 5.

I take my hat to every parent / family man or woman that took CCIE.

Now for the remedy part. U need to chill, allow urself time to relax and forget about the whole LAB otherwise u will simply burnout. If u have to, start meditation, visualisation and relaxation. U need to shutdown ursystem from time to time in order for it to work properly, a sort of a reboot.
I rememeber myself downgrading the importance of the test, and really it is just a test. If u fail u wont end up in jail. U will always try again, until u are capable to pass. yes it is important but if I did not relax before and specially during the test, I don't think I would have had the clarity and awareness to spot the issues, tackle them and pass.

U got to relax my friend, when u pass ur test....ur employers woul dexpect u to leave to ur title and boy ! thats when the real fun begins. If u dont learn to relax you will have wont last long.

I am sorry if I sounded like Dr Phil, it was not the intention. But the mental aspect of the prep is really crucial.

Good luck !

Sam

Just a little off technical stuff, asking about psychological advice.
I am here, after woke up on the middle of the night, because a bad dreaming - I was on the middle of the test, having difficult to solve a problem.
The funny thing is that the test was on the top of a house - on the roof. :)
(very representative; I was about to felt down).

Anyway, would you advice about that?

I do not have problem looking for professional help to deal with anxious or stress, just would like to see how mates deal with similar situation.

Who knows, maybe it would be easy as learn a new technical topic with good help :)
