Not to be flippant, but instead of UPS spend the $$ on a 3550 or save the
money for one.

To answer the question more closely, those routers won't draw more than 2
amp and probably don't even draw an amp regularly I think two 600VA UPS
should be able to hold them for 5-10 minutes fairly easily.

VA = volt X ampere

120 * 2 = 240 per router * 7 = 1680 remember this is the MAX that the
router will take it is prolly much closer to:

120 * 1 = 120 * 7 = 840 ( in which case you would likely be able to get
away with one ups and have a few seconds less of time )

Subject: UPS Query for Routers

Hi All

I have home lab of 7 routers (mix of 5 - 2500s and 2 - 2600s). I just
checked the cisco website and power requirements of each router is about 50
Watt.
Can you pls help me in suggesting, what should be the "VA" rating of UPS to
provide back up to these routers. Two 600VA UPS can support these 7 routers
for 5 min ?

Amit
