Transport input all

Hello,

I'm just curious, I've never been able to find a decent answer on this.

Per CCO, when configuring a con, aux or vty line:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123cgcr/tersv
_r/ter_t1g.htm#wp1083564

The default for 'transport input' is "no protocols allowed on the line
(none)."

But..., when I look at a newer IOS config (post 11.1), on the vty the config
doesn't have 'transport input all' or 'transport input telnet', yet my telnet
is accepted. Per the CCO, no protocols are allowed unless specified. Was
wondering if anyone knew why.

Router's config:
line vty 0 4
 password XXXXX
 login
!

router# sh user
* 98 vty 0 idle 00:00:00 192.168.0.5

router#sh line vty 0
   Tty Typ Tx/Rx A Modem Roty AccO AccI Uses Noise Overruns
Int
* 98 VTY - - - - - 113 0 0/0
-

....
Allowed input transports are lat pad v120 lapb-ta telnet rlogin.
Allowed output transports are lat pad v120 lapb-ta telnet rlogin

Thanks in advance, Sean
