Many thanks Ian

This sounds good ! and wil definately give it a try.
In fact I am working on script that would help me keeping an eye on ATM interfaces available resources on 8510MSR switches(sh atm interface resource aTM 0/0/0).
I am looking at a MIB to rteflect this values, and then just poll them, but I don't think there is such a MIB.

Thanks again !

Does it need to be awk or would you consider other things such as expect?
Running autoexpect -p and issuing the commands you want then saving it
creates a nice script you can then run whenever you want using a cron job.

Subject: Using AWK to access CISCO boxes

Happy new year all !

Anyone knows of a good reference to learn about using Linux / Unix to create
scripts that would run a show command and list specific output that can be
exporten to excel or access ?

TIA

Sam
