Is it possible to advertise a summary from the
backbone to only 1 other area? (or equally to not
advertise a route to 1 particular area).
It seems to be an all or nothing proposition.
So the following will cause the routes in the range
20.20.0.0/22 to not be advertised anywhere other than
area 0 but is there a way to not advertise it into
area 15 but still have it advertised into all other
areas?
router ospf 1
area 0 range 20.20.0.0 255.255.252.0 not-advertise
If there was a particular area you didn't want the
route advertised to you could use distribute-list on
every router in that area but that is about the only
way I can think of doing it (which seems ugly). Anyone
know of a better way of doing it?
