I think it is a chance of a lifetime if you are a kid, not married or have
no kids yet and need a project to start a track record. Heck if the money
over there equals 20k a month here you can either live like a king for the
time there(if you can) or find ways to invest the money to equal the
exchange rate. Nevertheless, my point is that that experience will help
ensure that you make the money you need in the US when you return regardless
of what you get paid for over there. The experience is almost priceless.

My two cents here...
In addition to finally being a CCIE and an engineer for AT&T I am also an
ordained Baptist minister...
In my former career it was not for the money at all (trust me) but rather
for the reward of assisting and helping other people and inspiring them to
handle life in ways they hadnt considered before...

Personally, if I was single (oh wait, I am now LOL), and didnt have kids (I
do and NEED to be close to them, what can I say I am addicted), I would
consider an adventure like this one because as someone pointed out, its a
chance to help a developing country...

It would be a thrill to design, build, and operate a telecommunications
network in a developing country, knowing that it would end up assisting in
raising the standard of living, enrich the lives of the people living there,
and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment of the local populace...that
may not be the most financially rewarding, but wow the personal satisfaction
would be difficult to equal.....
