Hi Kenneth,
Remember, you can only QOS 75% of the BW, unless you place the command
max-reserved-bandwidth 100
on the int Hssi 2/0.14.

Hi all,
I have a 7204 router with an 18000K Hssi divided into many subinterfaces. IOS 12.2. Each subinterface bandwidth is using encap frame and is set for 1.544mbps in US and 2.048Mbps in Europe.
All sites will be placing voice calls. I have configured FRTS and Fragmentation.
For QoS i have started to configure CBWFQ w/LLQ
I have created several policies based on the number of simultaneous calls per site.
example:
1544K with 3 calls:
Policy-map WAN_EDGE_3 class REAL_TIME_VOICE priority 192 class REAL_TIME_VIDEO bandwidth 460 class INTERACTIVE bandwidth 40 class MISSION_CRITICAL bandwidth 200 class IMPORTANT3 bandwidth 300 police 300000 30000 conform-action transmit exceed-action transmit violate-action set-dscp-transmit 0 class class-default fair-queue ! map-class frame-relay FRTS_1540K_3 frame-relay cir 1540000 frame-relay bc 15400 frame-relay be 0 frame-relay mincir 1540000 frame-relay fragment 1600 no frame-relay adaptive-shaping becn service-policy output WAN_EDGE_3 ! int Hssi 2/0.14 frame-relay class FRTS_1540K_3 ! end
Now when i tried to create another policy for another interface, i recieved an error as soon as i tried to set the bandwidth for the REAL_TIME_VIDEO to 460K.
error-- I/f Hssi2/0.14 DLCI 42 class REAL_TIME_VIDEO requested bandwidth 460 (kbps), av ailable only 448 (kbps)
now i understand that in periods of congestion this bandwidth is "nailed up" but i doubt i am using 18megs at this point and the interface load is only about 50/255. Besides, what does one policy have to do with the next?
i have researched and cant seem to find any solutions. If anyone can help i would appreciate it.
thanks,
