Just to add to the confusion - a lot of the newer ports support
auto-mdix. I know the 3560/3750 lines support it as well as the
6148-GE-TX cards for the 6500.

It's cool to have an entire data center of switches (75+) and not have
one crossover cable in there.

3560-LAB(config-if)#mdix ?
  auto Enable automatic MDI crossover detection on this interface
