Hey all,
got an interesting issue...
when i traceroute from a 3750 (ip address on vlan interface, gig E port
member of the vlan) to a call manager server that is directly connected to
that gig E interface, the first hop of the traceroute times out...
the 3750 has 2 of these call manager servers connected on different ports
(obviously), with each on it's own ip subnet. vlan interfaces are used for
layer 3 addresses on both subnets - ip addresses are NOT directly on the
ports.
if i traceroute from callmanager-1 to callmanager-2, i get 2 hops that
timeout in the traceroute...
does anyone know of anything within the callmanager ip stack that would
cause this - i have traceroute'ed to other win2k boxes from that switch
without a problem.
FYI, extended traceroutes were used, with a trace TO the callmanager-1 box
from the vlan interface that has the gateway address for the callmanager-1
box.
eg.
callmanager-1 server = 1.1.1.50
vlan 100 ip address = 1.1.1.1
vlan 100
ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
int gi 1/0/2
switchport access vlan 100
----# traceroute 1.1.1.50 1 * * * 2 1.1.1.50 10msec 10msec 10msec
----
any ideas ?
-marc.
