Dual Path Redundancy

Quick question, Hoping someone has done this before. Say you have two paths
on two different routers to the same destination.

R1 ---------------------------->R2

R3 ---------------------------> R4

R1 and R3 are in two different cities connected via Frame-Relay Cloud. There
is one lan subnet that behind R1 and R3

That needs to communicate with 1 lan subnet behind R2 and R4 which are in
two different cities. They both route 1 subnet back and forth.

Say on R1 you have a simple static route to IP 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
R2 (Next Hop)

And R3 you have another floating static route that goes to R4 192.168.10.0
255.255.255.0 R4 200

1. Can a floating static be used in a scenario like this.
2. What alternative would you use ??

Thanks,

Elliott
