RE: ipv6 subnetting...

I found a good one here...
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/te
chref/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/al
l/techref/en-us/w2k3tr_ipv6_how.asp

I think its very different though because you can't match bits in the
middle of the 16bits allowed for subnetting.

For example, if I get a /52 prefix from a provider that means I have 2
raised to the 64-52 networks available for myself to use and subnet.
Or, 4096 subnets.

So, how are you going to subnet those out if you want 4 sites to use 16
subnets per sites?

What are the prefixes for each site?

Maybe it was just me, but it wasn't readily obvious how to split this up
with a prefix greater than /48, but its all clear now. I guess my math
teacher was right, Algebra might prove useful after all.

What are some of your questions? IPv6 subnetting isn't any different
than IPv4 in concept.

I'll see if I can find some *good* beginners guide/online information
for you later today; but if you let me know some of your v6 related
questions, I'll be happy to answer as I can.
