Hi,
I pass my ccie security written in 2nd quarter of this
year with score quite close to 90% .
The following are my resources
- Network Security Principles and Practices from
ciscopress by Saadat Malik (best)
- CCIE Practical Studies: Security from ciscopress
(actually this book is for security lab but it's
useful for security written as well)
- Designing Network Security from ciscopress by Merike
Kaeo
- ccie security exam cert guide from cisco press by
Henry Benjamin
- strong knowledge from CCSP (best),my advice is to
finish CCSP before ccie security written
- some practical experiences on PIX,VPN,IDS,security
assesment
The ccie security written is very difficult exam for
me. You need to read through many scenario and apply
the right solution for them. This exam does not test
your "capability to memorize", but test your
analytical skill.
I think latest version of ccie security written may
test more newer technology and may be harder than
before.
HTH,
Aekasit Viriyajaree
CCIE #14157 (R/S)
CCIE Security candidate
CCSP,CCDP,CCNP,MCSE,MCSA+Messaging
