Hi Kasturi / Brian,
You are right the route assosciated with the filtering is not seen in the
routing table
but the LSA for that route is propagated across to other area routers and
they believe that the route exists through the filtered router but when you
do a show ip route on the filtered router it says it doesnt have the route (
this happens due to the distribute list which acts on the routing table and
not on the SPF alogrithm.
So to change the SPF or achieve domain wide effect we need to do ospf
database filetr or the area filter with a route map or any new feature which
may get introduced in the next IOS trains.
