Hi
I have successfully applied OSPF distribute lists per interface. The
rule below is generally applicable but there are exceptions.

Duane

No, you can't. The basic rule is all OSPF router should have identical
link
state database.
What you can do, is use area filter command at the ABR, or database
filter
command. The area filter command can filter link state database between
different areas. The database filter will filter all link state
advertisement.
Hope this help,
David

Subject: Distribution lists on OSPF
Hi,
I am new to the group ... so I hope this has not already been
discussed.
Is it possible to use a distribution list to filter OSPF updates in
from an interface? So for example, if I have two interfaces S1 and S2,
is
it possible to filter the receipt of a particular OSPF route in from S1
but allow it in from S2. This will cause that route to point out S2
and not S1.
Thanks!
CCIE Sammie!
