Understanding the difference when using Custom Queue and

  Hello,

I am trying to understand when I would choose using the bandwidth command
with a class map "Which from what I undertand is the same as custom-queuing"
and When I would use the priority command in a class-map "which from what I
understand is the same as using priority-queuing". Both only affect packets
when they are in the output queue of an interface when the interface is
congested right ? Or would either of these affect traffic that is not
bufferd in the output queue ? Also does the bandwith command allow traffic
to be in access of what I have specified. For instance if I specify
bandwidth 256 for FTP traffic and there is capacity in the queue it would
allow more than 256 K right ? And with the priority 256 specified for FTP it
will guerentee 256K but not allow any more than 256 K ?

Thanks in advance for any assistance in clearing this up :)
