Joshua,

It is a good thing that the VA recognizes CCIE. I picked a semester at school and self paid. I then changed my designated school to Netmaster for one term. I switched back for fall term. This worked out best over all for me. Youre right about the VA being slow, although my written exams were paid in > 6 weeks.
The Accelerated Payment for Advanced Technology program is excellent and was easy to use. The only downside I found was the interesting and peculiar ways that program handles some of its paperwork. I had some difficulty with this and it delayed my claim by over 2 months. If any one is considering this program and is interested in some objective lessons learned that might help with the application process, e-mail me off-line.

Best Regards,

Jeff,

Congrat's on your success with the lab, I know it feels good. In 6months
hopefully I'll be to that point as well! It's really a good thing to use
your VA benefits on the CCIE. I'm glad the VA opened it up for us to do it.
It's also nice to have your certification tests paid for by the VA. I
checked into netmasters too, only problem was that the VA will only pay for
one program at a time (I'm going to College on the MGIB) so I would have to
drop my college to pay for netmasters (not an option). MGIB will however pay
for the lab even if you fail it, although they do take their sweet time to
dish out your reimbursment :)

again, Congats on your great achievement!
