Sure this is possible with the 7505 and an ATM port adapter OC-3...
I cannot remember the exact part number but this is the part where ATM LANE
components are configured and "router-on-a-stick" is used. This was used in
the 90s before Gigabit Ethernet came out. You used the Lightstreams and
could have an OC-3 or OC-12 core. Then, when the Gigabit Ethernet comes out,
you throw all of this away and replace it with 6509s. You can leave the ATM
switches on to provide additional heat in your network room on cold nights
if desired. Or you
can move them around your navy site into different buildings and provide
additional ATM services or heat a small room as needed. :-) With 4 or 5 of
them you can heat a large room!
