Just tag a loopback interface with the IP address and use IP unnumbered
on each dialer interface. Then build your dialer interfaces for each
dial string for the remote sites.

Subject: Dialer Profiles and Multipoint Interface
Hi group,
I am in need of your help. I am getting all confused now.
I need to configure ONE BRI interface for "Backup Interface & Load" AND
for dialing other (multiple) sites. Is this possible ?? The problem i am
having is: "Can you configure a multipoint interface with Dialer
Profiles ???" This is what i have at this time:
int bri1/0
dialer pool-member 1
dialer pool-member 2
<other config surpressed>
int Dialer0
dialer pool 1
ip unnumbered Serial1
<other config surpressed>
int Serial1
ip address x.x.x.x
backup interface Serial1
backup load 50 30
<other config surpressed>
int Dialer1
dialer pool 2
ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
dialer in-band
dialer map ip 1.1.1.2 name NAME1 <phone1>
dialer map ip 1.1.1.3 name NAME2 <phone2>
dialer map ip 1.1.1.4 name NAME3 <phone3>
<other config surpressed>
Will this work ??
The problem i have is that Cisco always says NOT to use dialer maps with
dialer profiles (dialer pool x). You must use "dialer remote name" and
"dialer string". But then i loose the capability to dial multiple sites
from the same interface (on Dialer1) and i don't want that. How to solve
this ? PS. Splitting the 1.1.1.0 subnet and making multiple dialer
interfaces is NOT an option.....
All help appreciated,
Regards,
Geert
