Regarding the ASET labs available to Cisco customers-
Matt Seppeler already gave the program info URL in a previous email,
but here it is again. The way I understand it is that you need
to get a Cisco SE or someone of that ilk to schedule you:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/765/download/pep/aset_qualify.html
Here are the current offerings:
8 Route/Switch labs:
Labs 1-5 are moderately difficult, 6-8 are harder.
5 Security Labs:
Pretty good labs. Skyline wrote these.
1 Catalyst 3550 lab:
Covers just the 3550.
1 IDS 4215 lab:
Lots of IDS stuff including blocking on PIX and routers.
1 Certificate Services/IPsec lab (coming soon):
Involves using IPsec with certificates on router, PIX,
VPN concentrator, and the VPN client.
Each "pod" contains 7 routers (ranging from 2500s to 3745s),
1 PIX (515), 1 VPN concentrator (3005), 1 IDS 4215, and 1
PC.
All of the above labs can be automatically scored using the
AutoVerify tool.
Joe Rinehart made some apropos comments regarding some shortcomings
of the ASET scoring. We're constantly getting feedback and trying
to fix those holes, so feel free to comment if you do use the labs
and have any issues.
Please feel free to respond to this email address if you have any
questions.
Thanks
