IE Lab 3 - Multicast

Hello All,

I was doing IE lab 3 ( good labs ) where the multicast groups is on R2
(in dense mode) and R5 is hub with two spokes R2 and R4.Its seen that
R1 and R3 (R1 is directly connected to R5 and R3, R3 is connected to
R2 but pim is not enabled on that connection).

Q1. The ping from R1 or R3 to group at R2 fails. When i disabled
mroute-cache at R5's interfcae to R1, it works. I cann't figure out
why? How do we see the entries in mroute-cache?

Q2. I noticed that my ip routing has best path for R3 via R2, that
means RPF fails when packet comes via R3->R1->R5 destined to R2. So my
question is when dealing with multicast should we always take care of
RPF issues..because though my multicast configs are correct but a ping
to group address may fail due to this issue? Do i deserve points in
real lab with this ignorance ;)

Thanks in advance.
