Hi Vesselin,
Based on myown experience and those of many others, typically, the isdn
portion of the lab isn't that difficult but it's still very, very easy to
lose points here.
My suggestion - assuming you know how to configure isdn and those items
related to isdn such as, dialer profiles, ppp authen, etc - is to take do
your isdn config 1 step at a time and then test after each step. Also, make
sure you understand what you're being asked to do. It's very easy, for
example, to misinterpret the wording of the isdn tasks and make a dumb
mistake like configuring R1 to authen R2 instead of the other way around.
So, for example, the first step in configuring isdn is to make sure you have
connectivity to the isdn switch ie you've configured the switch type and
spids if required.
Before doing step 2, do a show isdn status. If the output shows that
there's problem, don't do any other steps. Fix the first problem before
moving on.
Next, config basic connectivity. This will intail configuring dialer
profiles or legacy DDR, L3 addressing, and interesting traffic.
Before moving on, test from both sides of the link.
Next, config whatever special features are required - one at a time and test
again after each feature is configured.
If you follow this format, you'll be much less likely to lose points for
this section of the lab.
HTH, Tim
