I'm with you on the passing. I just about gave up after #4. Worst score
of them all, and I was pretty sure I passed. I'm just now getting back
to studying and its been almost 3 months since I took the last one. I
have until Feb to pass,at which point I would have to take the written
over.

I only mention reclassification of points because a former proctor
mentioned that points don't always go where you think they do.

I'm still lobbying for the "who wants to be a CCIE" rules. 1 50/50, 1
phone a friend, and 1 ask the other students.

:)

Hi Larry,

I see what you are saying, but I think their grading is pretty straight
forward...meaning the sections you see in the lab will correlate with
the sections on the score report. Plus, I tend to believe this because
when I multiply the percentage of what I got with the point values I
memorize, it comes out with a whole number (or extremely close). If I
came up with scoring 6.5 points in a section versus 6 for example, then
I might think something is wrong. But what I really want to do is
pass...so I won't have to see another score report...oh well...

  Thanks,
    Mike

I would be careful with that.

Something may be under a "protocol A" section, but the configuration
points are actually awarded under another section.

E.G.

Under OSPF they ask you to add security to your routing updates. Does
that go under security or under OSPF?

You may be able to get *close* to a percentage, but I wouldn't rely on
that to be completely accurate.

You can get an exact score if you take the time to memorize how many
points each section has before leaving the exam room at the end of the
day. Once you have those just do the algebra to get your score. That's
what I did during my 3rd and 4th attempts. Got a 70 and 62
respectively. I wish I did that for my first two attempts so I would
have more to compare with...
