topics I just learnt the concepts and relied on the doc cd for the commands
:-)

heheh... Well... As much as you can. :)

The security stuff is a different beast! So, the answer will depend greatly
on how much security experience that you have so far. The Cisco Press MCNS
book (Managing Cisco Network Security) is a good place for general theory
and operations. It's a little dated, so it won't have the latest IDS and
VPN Concentrator stuff in it, but is a good overall book and intro to the
PIX as well. There are other Security related books. As much of the
underlying theory you can understand about the technologies involved, the
better off you will be!

Having recently got your R&S number (congrats by the way), I'm sure you can
appreciate this relationship!
