One golden rule: be sure you understand the principle of split
horizon in RIP. Remember it whenever you do mutual redistribution:
you should never learn something from another routing domain to which
you announced it as something you properly originated.

For the real world, a platinum rule that is impermissible on the lab:
advertise detailed routes from less capable or hierarchically higher
protocol, advertise default to less capable or hierarchically lower
protocol.
