Are you referring to Routing tcp/ip vol 2 page 256? Keeping the AS path
while BGP is redistributed into OSPF.

Subject: transporting BGP over OSPF...

Hello group,

I think that i have read an article somewhere about redistributing BGP into
a IGP (like OSPF or EIGRP)
WITH keeping the AS path information. This AS PATH information was kept in
route attributes (like a tag, the tag
was the AS PATH).

I don't remember where i found it and I am not sure that it was this
configuration exactly (maybe it was transporting OSPF over BGP with keeping
the OSPF metric), but if you guys have ever heard of transporting some
attributes via the tag, i sure would love to hear about it.........

Regards,
Geert
