Hello group,
Maybe this is a bit of a strange question. I wonder if it is possible to prevent a router from "breaking" a line
in the routing table's output, like you see 1 time below:
show ip route
D 10.146.132.0/24 [90/4476672] via 10.159.251.73, 1w1d, Serial1/0
D 10.134.144.0/23 [90/4988672] via 10.159.251.73, 1w5d, Serial1/0
D 10.140.250.96/30 [90/59769856] via 10.159.251.73, 2w1d, Serial1/0
D 10.136.250.100/30
[90/257282560] via 10.136.40.9, 2d16h, FastEthernet4/1
D 10.129.254.104/29 [90/560786176] via 10.159.251.73, 3d02h, Serial1/0
D 10.129.255.105/32 [90/16147456] via 10.159.251.73, 3d02h, Serial1/0
D 10.131.148.0/24 [90/4243712] via 10.159.251.73, 3d02h, Serial1/0
D 10.128.151.0/24 [90/3962112] via 10.159.251.73, 3d02h, Serial1/0
D 10.130.149.0/24 [90/3962368] via 10.159.251.73, 3d02h, Serial1/0
I have set my terminal width to 132 chars:
#sh terminal
Line 2, Location: "", Type: "XTERM"
Length: 42 lines, Width: 132 columns
Also, my terminal program is setup to 132 chars and the Cisco Router still splits this line !
This is really a pain in the a** if you want to filter hundreds of routes with a syntax like:
sh ip route | i FastEthernet4/1
The line is included, but the subnet is not , douh !
[90/257282560] via 10.136.40.9, 2d16h, FastEthernet4/1
Any ideas on how to prevent his ???
Regards,
Geert
