No. What you probably heard of is "Microsoft loopback" or
"DHCP link local" or "DHCP allocation pool", etc, etc
And all that different conotations are: 169.254.0.0/16 :)
1918 is from RFC1918 which only specifies:
10/8, 172.16.0/12, and 192.168/16
