is there a functional difference between the following?

neighbor 1.1.1.1 filter-list 1 out
ip as-path access list permit ^54$

and

neighbor 1.1.1.1 route-map filter out

route-m filter deny 10
match as-path 1
route-m filter permit 20

ip as-path access-list permit ^54$
