As an FYI,
I had an objective doing one of the Cisco Asset labs that asked to only
permit SNA traffic across DLSW that involved bridging only Ethernet
segments. I used the access-list of access-list "200 permit 0x0404
0x0001" and their auto grading script counted me off. I sent them an
email explaining why 0x0000 0x0d0d was not specific enough and they
agreed that 0x0404 0x0001 is a better choice. This type of task can be
a bit confusing as you will see the 0d0d choice in a lot of Cisco's
documentation.
I would recommend asking the proctor to clarify what the scripted answer
is expecting (I would think in this case Cisco would grade this
objective by what is in the running-config as opposed to the actual
results). You need to articulate to the proctor that you know the
difference between both for them to point you in the right direction as
to what they are expecting the Cisco scripted answer to be.

They won't ask you to do that. SAP 8/9 and C/D are both IBM specific
hardware that exists in token ring environments only. Not gonna happen
in
the ethernet world.
04/05 as a pair is what's used for SNA no matter the media type.

Hi guys,
The url does not say how they got(0x0404 0x0001instead of 0x0000 0x0d0d)
guys If they ask you to allow only SNA 4 and 8 with only one statement
(not
too lines) how to do it.
thanks
Mani

Trying to find a Cisco UniverCD URL with SNA LLC (in case the stress

us forget) I found this:
access-list 202 permit 0x0404 0x0001 ! Permits SNA frames (command or
response)

I was used to see 0x0000 0x0d0d, which allows SNA 0, 4, 8 and C. Why
0404 is
used by Cisco in this example?
