Yes. Do NOT let CCNP or CCDP expire!!!!! When I recertified CCIE
recently, my big concern was that I would not pass in time to recertify
my CCNP. If I had failed, I could have quickly resurrected the CCIE but
the CCNP would be completely gone. I printed out perhaps a thousand
pages from CCO, studied really hard and passed, but I was worried that
it might take me more than one attempt. (I tend to worry too much.)

Larry Roberts makes an excellent point that employers are often looking
for CCNP or CCDP, and their searches may not even match on CCIE. It
used to be that many employers knew CCNA but did not know much about CCNP.
