Well my opinion is that most people (me included) fail due to non core
topics !

I agree,

The core of my home lab is based on the 2500. I posted a question earlier
on regarding what IOS to get to use IPV6, and got a good response.
Mind you I have not tried loading it yet!

I had a major worry that I would miss my opportunity to pass this exam if
IPV6 was introduced, as I have not spent much time on it (too busy doing the
other stuff).
But I have come to the conclusion if Cisco try to introduce this as a core
topic, I suspect most companies would stop their employees taking the lab.
It is not being used, except by ISP's, and if Cisco really tried hammering
this topic, I seriously suspect that most vendor's would tell them to stick
it.

This does not mean we should not study the topic, but when it appears, I
suspect it will be worth a couple of points, and if you cover the basics,
you should be able to cover it. If they decide to push it as a main core,
then I suspect more of us will fail the damn exam, and get seriously
disheartened for a few months until we get up to speed. Again it's all
about perspective!

These are my personal opinions, so please do not try to hang me (just yet!
:-)).

Regards Grant
